Roy Berggren

Roy Berggren joined Population Health Partners as a partner in 2021.

Prior to joining Population Health Partners, Roy Berggren was Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company (New York) where he served clients in life sciences, health care services, and private equity. For a period during this time, he was also the global leader of McKinsey’s Life Sciences practice, one of the largest industry practices of the firm.

His core role for his last 20 years at McKinsey was to lead client service teams for several large and small biopharma companies. The work spanned all major value creation drivers – including R&D strategy and effectiveness, product strategies and launches, cost/productivity programs across the full value chain, and M&A/BD moves to transform business/product portfolios.

Roy’s experience also includes serving US healthcare system/payors on population health-related growth strategies enabled by consumer and technology trends, and private equity firms on assessing investments in the healthcare landscape, targeting growth and disruptive opportunities.Throughout his career at McKinsey, he also helped to advance the firm’s insights on value-creating corporate strategies and capital allocation practices and managing strategic transformations, as well as best practices in M&A and alliance management.

Roy received his MD from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and his MBA with honors from Columbia Business School.
